Coffee Knock Tube Liner
Coffee grounds are a precious resource. This organic matter adds vital nitrogen to compost which can be returned to the earth to improve soil quality and water retention, helping new crops thrive.
Compost-A-Pak® Coffee Knock Tube Liners are a sustainable alternative designed to line Knock Tubes to make it easy to collect and transport precious coffee grounds.
Completely organic, plastic free, and Australian Certified Compostable for Home (AS5810) and Commercial (AS4736) Composting, these Liners are manufactured to be particularly durable given the weight of moist coffee grounds. After use, they can be thrown our with the organic waste to be composted.
Compost-A-Pak® is proudly an Australian family owned business, established in 2007. Our manufacturing processes are driven by our passion for sustainability. All Compost-A-Pak® products are made from a natural starch-based polymer derived from corn. We choose corn, as it is an annually renewable crop, unlike trees, which can take years to grow. The actual crops are sources from international GMO-free regions with high levels of rain, to minimise irrigation, and the corn selected is third grade corn. This is basically spoilt corn, a waste product traditionally left by farmers to rot, that is not suitable for human or animal consumption.
Using purpose built biodegradable resin extruders, a resin is extracted from the combination of corn starch, biodegradable ingredients and some propriety elements, and from this blown film bags are formed in a range of designs and sizes. We are extremely proud that through re-engineering this purpose-build equipment, our Liners are made with significantly less electricity consumption, compared to manufacturing on conventional extrusion equipment. The products are also printed in soy based inks, with environmental messages and information promoting their differences as a sustainable alternative to plastics. They have a recommended shelf life of twelve months.
Most importantly, Compost-A-Pak® Coffee Knock Tube Liners are Certified Compostable to the strictest Australian Standards, for both Home Composting (AS5810) and Commercial (AS4736), as well as the relevant European, American, and Japanese standards for commercial composting.
In the same way as vegetable scraps, the products in their entirety will break down into humus, water, and carbon dioxide in a commercial composting facility in a matter of weeks. These certifications ensure you can be confident there will be no harmful residue as the liners break down. In fact, the bags are also safe for use in organic farms, food contact, animal feed, and in worm farms.

CIRCULAR ECONOMY
Compost-A-Pak® products are a powerful example to the circular economy. We believe such circular economies are the key to a more sustainable future.
This product is Australian Certified Compostable for both Home Composting (AS5810) and Commercial Composting (AS4736).
The product is made predominantly of third grade corn, a waste product traditionally left by farms to rot as it is unsuitable for human or animal consumption. The products are completely plastic free.
Just as nature intended, Compost-A-Pak® products will break down within a few weeks in commercial composting facilities, in the same way as a cob of corn would, leaving no micro-plastics or toxins. The nutrient rich compost can then be used to nourish the soil, ensuring new organic crops or community gardens can thrive.
