The Pasta Company opened its doors in June 2001 when owners Salvatore and Kerryn Saffioti relocated from Melbourne to share their passion for excellent pasta with the locals of Queensland.
For first generation Australian, Salvatore, a flare for inspired Italian cooking was a birth right, from early years living in northern Italy. His love affair with food began at an early age, with some of his earliest memories being cooking traditional dishes of his parent’s homeland (including some sacred family recipes). This passion for good Italian food was fine-tuned later by three years managing The Prahan hotel in Melbourne and working as pasta chef with Rosalinos pasta makers of Alphington.
It is this very passion that prompted Sal to create ‘The Pasta Company’ together with self-taught North Queensland gourmet Kerryn, who brings her own unique Eastern perspective to The Pasta Company’s products. Like her husband, Kerryn’s affiliation with food began from a young age, with her parents sharing with her their joy for cooking – and their own family recipes.
