The Australian Made Campaign-supported Australian International Furniture Exhibition (AIFE) showcased Australian furniture design and manufacturing trends for both residential and commercial spaces from July 11 to 13.

An initiative of the Australian Furniture Association (AFA), AIFE was open to the public at Melbourne's Royal Exhibition Building.

The world heritage listed Royal Exhibition Building in Melbourne was transformed into the largest 'display home' in Australia for an exhibition of Australian Furniture excellence. AIFE was designed to promote Australian furniture to national and international markets.

Each 'showcase space' featured Australian-made furniture (and furnishings including flooring, wall and decorative elements) and was reminiscent of the international furniture salons and global benchmarks for the home furnishing sector.

Each showcase was designed to highlight the quality, diversity and beauty of Australian furniture, with a focus on the industry's evolution, innovation, talent and technologies. The showcases demonstrated the practical use of new products and the design aesthetic for which Australian design is recognised internationally.

In addition to the showcase living and working spaces, the exhibition featured a curation of Australian Furniture Manufacturing and Design with pioneering manufacturers. The curation spans over 110 years and features key original work from prototypes to production.
