Tilt Functions
These features allow you to angle your umbrella beyond a simple upright position. See examples in the images.
But you might be wondering, “are the functions all smoke and mirrors or are they necessary?” Here are 4 reasons why our customers couldn’t go without them.
- More Shade
Keeping the sun away from your outdoor setting is the number 1 reason why you would buy an umbrella, right? Tilting your umbrella, particularly in the morning and afternoons can dramatically improve the span of shade.
When an umbrella does not have a tilt function, its optimal usage will be significantly shorter. Which brings us to our second point…
- Blocks the Sun for Longer
The last thing you want to do is plan an event around when the sun can be blocked by your umbrella. For standard upright umbrellas they only become useful to any degree once the sun sits above the canopy.
Changing the umbrella from an upright position to be more angular will allow you to easily host a breakfast with family and friends outside.
- More Privacy
Privacy is as essential as ever and our home should be where we will have it most! Combining a tilt function on a large canopy with height adjustability results in being able to cover a spa.
- Wind and Rain Block
In addition to the above, an umbrella that tilts can be effective in shielding rain and winds. Heavy rain does not always fall directly downwards, so angling your umbrella can be your friend in those scenarios.
Please note: know your umbrellas limits in wind and use those to guide your usage. It may not be safe in strong winds to keep your umbrella up.

All our umbrellas come with 360 rotation as standard and our Deluxe/Ultimate umbrellas have as standard the single tilt function. Height adjustability (Ultimate model only) and the double tilt function are available for select products also.
