Partnerships with top schools help train future hospitality leaders

05 December, 2014

Starting in 2015, hospitality students both locally and internationally will be hosted by one of Australia's leading restaurant groups

Urban Purveyor Group and the Blue Mountains International Hotel Management School (BMIHMS) are proud to announce the launch of a new partnership which will see hospitality students trained at some of Australia’s leading restaurants.

In addition, Urban Purveyor Group will also unite with Cornell University in New York where international master students will have an opportunity to draw experience from the highly-competitive Australian restaurant scene.

Urban Purveyor Group will also aim to provide employment and sponsorship opportunities for these students wanting to return to Australia after completing their studies.

Unique experience

In a bid to give hospitality students a unique placement experience, these new partnerships will provide those who sit the courses a chance to work across a range of restaurant business types from premium to casual dining venues. Job roles will range from front-of-house through to supervisory and management positions.

A placement with the Urban Purveyor Group will provide students with unfettered access to over 20 of the country's most renowned restaurants across a diverse range of cuisines and dining experiences including Ananas Bar & Brasserie, The Argyle, The Cut Bar & Grill, Saké Restaurant & Bar (NSW, Vic, Qld), Bavarian Bier Café (NSW, Qld), MUNICH Brauhaus, Swine & Co. and the legendary Löwenbräu Keller.

Founder and CEO of Urban Purveyor Group, John Szangolies, said: "These relationships with both BMIHMS and Cornell University provide the Urban Purveyor Group with access to some outstanding talent both locally and internationally.

"As a company we see these partnerships as a critical way to attract the very best of talent to our organisation that we can train and develop whilst we continue to grow our portfolio of businesses."

Jerome Casteigt, COO of the Blue Mountains International Hotel Management School, said: "This new partnership with the Urban Purveyor Group comes at the perfect time as it aligns with the launch of our new 2015 Restaurant and Catering management degree.

"These placement opportunities give our students an invaluable practical experience that is imperative to their qualifications."
