Hospitality students will have the opportunity to serve part of their training for the Diploma of Hospitality at one of the world‘s best restaurants, when Noma begins its 10-week residency in Sydney on 1 February 2016.

Minister for Skills John Barilaro said the new partnership between Noma Australia, Restaurant and Catering Australia (R&CA), and the NSW Government, will provide on-the-job training for students at the internationally renowned restaurant.

Barilaro said the students will take part in an eleven-week internship program under the watchful eye of head chef René Redzepi and his team. The NSW Government is contributing $2,114 per head for their training.

"This is an excellent example of a business working to offer training to the next generation of hospitality professionals, with the support of industry and the NSW Government,” Barilaro said.

"It's also a wonderful opportunity for the students to learn about service and the preparation of high quality food under the guidance of a chef who has earned an international reputation for innovative dining."

The program will offer students training while the two Michelin star Danish restaurant operates its temporary residency from January to April 2016.

Following the Noma work placement, the students will complete their training with R&CA.
