To our best knowledge, the T-TEC DyMap program is the first attempt to create a dynamic visualisation of the result from many dataloggers, constructing a form of movie which shows the total situation, within a certain process, area or room.
DyMap shows the changes of temperature (or other physical quantity), across an area and over time, in a colour map movie form.
What is Dynamic Mapping (DyMap)?
Footage from infrared cameras can be show as a 'movie'. A series of cloud photos from satellites can be combined to create a 'movie' which shows cloud formation and movements.
The T-TEC DyMap program can combine discrete measurements, from numerous carefully placed dataloggers, to create a picture of a dynamic situation. Any data from iButton Thermochron temperature dataloggers or any data from T-TEC data loggers, including humidity and milli Amps can be included.
DyMap was constructed in such a way that it can be used with any non-Temperature Technology data, so long as the data fits the specific text file format required by Dymap.
How does Dynamic Mapping (DyMap) work?
T-TEC or Thermochron data loggers are placed in a network, in rows and columns, with their positions coded in the comments field of the logger, for example, as 'R1C2'. Once the T-TEC data loggers are read by the T-TEC software, the measured results are stored as files on the computer.
DyMap can combine these measured results from all the dataloggers and show it as a form of movie which shows the total situation, within a certain process, area or room through time. The movie is seen as though the viewer were over and looking down at the whole area.
